On Sunday, 16th February 2025 road race for runners, The Naseby 1645
Published: 12 January 2025
On Sunday, 16th February 2025 I am organising a road race for runners, The Naseby 1645
The 16.45 mile race route can be viewed here: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/26792272
As you can see the route comes into Clipston along Kelmarsh Road, turning left onto the High Street, then bears right along Harborough Road, following this road to East Farndon.
The following traffic management measures will be in place around the Clipston area for the safety of our participants (full details on all road closures and traffic management measures that will be in place for the event can be found here: https://raceharborough.co.uk/naseby-1645-traffic-management/).
Temporary Speed Restriction, to 40 mph from 60 mph
Kelmarsh Road
Harborough Road (as it leaves the village until East Farndon)
Stop-Go Team
Kelmarsh Road (at the bottom of)
Marshals
There will be a number through the village to ensure the safety of the runners and warn road users/pedestrians as to their presence.
The race starts at Naseby Village Hall at 9am and Clipston is 5 miles into the route.
Therefore, we would expect the timings of runners to be as follows.
- First runners reach Clipston: 09:27
- Final runners reach Clipston: 10:16
We will deliver leaflets to residents along the route, notifying them about the race, and the traffic management measures that will be in place, during January.
Our traffic management company will also be putting in place the requisite notification signage in terms of the closed roads two weeks before the race, as well as any required notices.
We will also put up a number of directional arrows to ensure that the runners stay on course. These will be removed by a sweeper vehicle following the back runners.
I would be very grateful if you could help assist us in ensuring that village residents are aware of the race, by sharing this information on your website and/or in your parish magazine.
Full information on the race is contained on our website: raceharborough.co.uk/naseby-1645 and if there is anything further you’d like to know, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
Yours faithfully,
